Fair Use Policy

Floov avoids routine hard caps on responses and cumulative storage. These review thresholds keep that flexibility sustainable and do not automatically block legitimate customer activity.

Last updated:

1. Purpose and Scope

This policy forms part of the Terms of Service. It applies to aggregate use of forms, responses, storage, bandwidth, email, and infrastructure. Its purpose is to identify sustained, unusual use that may affect security, reliability, cost, or other customers, not to penalise normal growth or a one-off successful form.

“Unlimited” means Floov does not ordinarily impose a customer-facing monthly response counter or cumulative storage cutoff for an eligible feature. It does not mean unlimited technical capacity, a dedicated infrastructure reservation, or permission for abuse. The 250-form account limit and feature availability shown on Pricing are product limits, not these internal review thresholds.

2. Current Review Thresholds

Crossing a threshold can create an internal review notification. It does not automatically reject a response, upload, or customer action.

Floov fair-use review thresholds by plan
Metric Free review threshold Pro review threshold
Completed responses per calendar month 30,000 50,000
Cumulative private response-file storage Not included 50 GB
Cumulative media-library storage Not included 2 GB

File-upload fields, E-signatures, and the media library are Pro features. The thresholds are applied at the owning account or workspace level as the product measures it, not separately to each form. Partial responses do not count as completed responses and do not store file bytes.

3. What Happens When Use Is Reviewed

We consider duration, growth pattern, legitimate business context, security signals, bandwidth, operational cost, impact on others, attempts to evade controls, and whether use resembles a shared, resold, automated, or abusive service. We may:

  1. verify the measurement and rule out a technical error or attack;
  2. contact the account owner for context and practical optimisation;
  3. agree that the use is reasonable and take no further action;
  4. suggest cleanup, a plan change, rate design, or a custom arrangement; or
  5. use proportionate restrictions under the enforcement section when necessary.

A threshold is not a guaranteed allocation and does not create a fee by itself. We will not invoice an extra usage charge without your express agreement. Normal legitimate use is not automatically throttled merely because the threshold is crossed.

4. Prohibited Resource Use

Regardless of volume or plan, you may not:

  • generate fake, automated, purchased, or deceptive form traffic or responses;
  • use Floov primarily as general-purpose file hosting, backup storage, a CDN, or a file-distribution network;
  • resell, pool, or share one subscription across unrelated organisations to avoid a plan or commercial arrangement;
  • circumvent limits, split activity across accounts, rotate identifiers, or conceal the true owner or purpose of use;
  • run load tests, vulnerability scans, scraping, bulk automation, or stress tests without written permission;
  • send spam, malware, phishing, illegal content, or abusive notifications;
  • consume resources in a way that materially degrades security, availability, or service for others; or
  • use a feature contrary to the Acceptable Use terms.

5. Enforcement, Notice, and Appeals

We use the least restrictive measure reasonably appropriate. For ordinary high-volume legitimate use, we will normally contact the owner and allow a reasonable opportunity to discuss or remedy the issue. Measures can include guidance, temporary rate limits, pausing affected forms or uploads, requiring a suitable arrangement, or suspension or termination for severe or repeated misuse.

Immediate action may be necessary for an active attack, unlawful content, security compromise, serious service degradation, fraud, or another urgent legal or safety risk. Where appropriate and legally permitted, notice will explain the factual basis, policy ground, scope, duration, and available appeal. You may challenge a decision by replying to the notice or emailing [email protected]. A person will review the relevant context.

6. Changes and Contact

We may revise thresholds prospectively as product capacity, costs, or misuse patterns change. Material changes will be dated and, where appropriate, notified before they apply. A change does not create retroactive overage charges.
