Field Visibility
Pro. Show a question only when other answers meet your conditions. For example, ask for a company name only when someone selects Business.
Add a Visibility Rule
- Select a question in the form editor.
- In its Field settings, turn on Show this field when….
- Choose a question, a comparison, and the answer to check.
- Add more conditions if needed. Choose All conditions match or Any condition matches.
- Use Preview to try matching and non-matching answers, then publish.
You can add up to 10 conditions per question. The question picker groups sources by page; choose a supported question before or after the one you are editing. You cannot choose the question itself, and choices that would create a circular dependency are disabled. Questions inside columns work too. Conditions can use text, number, choice, checkbox, rating, date, and time questions. Date-only conditions compare the selected calendar day across time zones. Address, ranking, uploads, and signatures can be shown conditionally but cannot be used as the source of a condition.
What Respondents See
Questions appear as their conditions match. A hidden required question does not block the respondent. If an answer changes and hides a question, its previous answer is cleared; showing it again starts fresh. Hidden answers are not sent to your integrations.
If an answer on a later page reveals a required question on a page the respondent already visited, Floov returns them to that page before they can finish. Use Preview to check this alongside your page workflows, including routes that skip source questions.
A condition based on a question that is itself hidden does not match, including an Is empty condition. Choose Is empty explicitly when you want an unanswered, visible question to reveal another question.
Editing and Publishing
All questions stay visible in the editor, and conditional questions have a Conditional field marker. Preview shows the respondent experience.
Moving questions keeps their visibility rules. If you delete a source question or remove a referenced choice, fix the condition before publishing. Publication also checks for circular dependencies. Turn off Show this field when… to make a question always visible again.
